Dr. Alex Filazzola, Data Scientist, ApexRMS, Adjunct Faculty, Western University

Alex Filazzola leans on over a decade of his research to discuss climate extremes across time and space. He describes how in our changing climate, natural ecosystems are being pushed and pulled into different directions, resulting in a large impact on our biodiversity. From deserts to mountains to cities, Alex will give examples of our present so we can better understand how nature might respond in the future.

Dr. Alessandro Filazzola is a data scientist at ApexRMS and adjunct faculty at Western University. He is a resident of Guelph and a passionate environmentalist. He is working to develop a software called SyncroSim that is intended to increase the accessibility of complex ecological models into the hands of decision-makers and land managers.
