Join Nature Guelph Bird Wing on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 7:30-9:00 pm for a presentation from Brendan Boyd, Ontario Forest Birds Program Coordinator, Birds Canada . Brendan will discuss the creation, history, and purpose of Birds Canada’s Ontario Forest Birds Program. He will summarize the biggest threats facing Ontario’s forest birds today and what the Ontario Forest Birds Program is doing to help. He will also go into a bit more detail about some of the problems affecting the program’s target species and how the general public can help.

This event will be hosted in person at Wild Birds Unlimited Guelph (987 Gordon St, Guelph, ON).

About the Speaker: Brendan Boyd has been working with birds in some way or another for most of his life. Growing up in Toronto, he spent his free time exploring green spaces across the city and volunteering at the Toronto Bird Observatory. While birds started off as a hobby, they have now turned into a career. Before joining Birds Canada as the Ontario Forest Birds Program Coordinator, Brendan completed his PhD, which examined how the size of southwestern Ontario forest fragments that Wood Thrushes choose to nest in affects their long-term survival.
