Joseph Langlois and Christa Wise, Interpretive Naturalists, The Arboretum, U of G

Joseph Langlois and Christa Wise will give you the confidence to start using iNaturalist in your day-to-day life, whether that’s to identify a plant, a bug, a bird, or any other living thing you may come across. They will discuss why iNaturalist is one of the best apps for plant identification, why it’s important, how to get started, and tips and tricks they have learned in their own extensive use of the platform.

Joseph Langlois and Christa Wise are Interpretive Naturalists and Student Engagement Coordinators at The Arboretum, University of Guelph. Together, they strive to connect people with nature through educational programming, interactive activities, and community events.
Passionate about biodiversity, Jo particularly enjoys birdwatching and gall-rearing, a hobby to be introduced during the presentation. He attended the University of Guelph where he received his Master’s of Environmental Sciences.
With a great appreciation for everything ‘nature’, Christa enjoys helping others discover the small wonders of the natural world. She completed her Bachelor’s of Zoology at The University of Guelph and has been working at The Arboretum ever since.
