Mitchell Trail and Ellis Creek Wetland Trail
Join us as we explore Guelph’s local trails and parks, with the goal of increasing our appreciation and knowledge of these spaces and the plants and animals that may be found in them. As summer gives away to autumn, we can expect to see some beautiful fall colours, mushrooms, and migrating birds.
This Discovery Walk is not intended as a guided hike, but rather as an opportunity for participants to slow down, take a closer look, and see what can be found in a casual and collaborative setting.
The pace of the walk is expected to be slow, and we may not get very far in terms of distance, depending on what there is to see. Participants are encouraged to make use of whatever methods of nature appreciation and interaction that they prefer, be that photography, nature journaling, or logging species on iNaturalist, and to bring whatever gear they wish to use (e.g., field guides, binoculars).
Please ensure you plan for the weather including sun protection, adequate water, bug protection, etc.

What to Expect:
- Distance: Approximately 2-4 km walking, pace will be slow
- Terrain: Even terrain, some small hills, crushed gravel
- Trail Difficulty: Easy
- This event is family-friendly.
- This event is NOT dog-friendly.
- Dress for the weather including bug and sun protection
- Bring water
