DESCRIPTION:Dr. Jesse Popp\, Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Environmen
 tal Science\, University of Guelph\n\n\n–\n\nSimilar to the way diversit
 y held within a mixed-wood forest allows life to flourish\; the inclusion 
 of multiple ways of knowing\, ways of being\, and knowledge systems in the
  natural sciences and beyond provide holistic understandings that benefit 
 all. From population monitoring to wildlife ecology and conservation\, Ind
 igenous and Western science can be woven in a good way to complement one a
 nother while supporting reconciliation.\n\nDr. Jesse Popp is a Canada Rese
 arch Chair in Indigenous Environmental Science at the University of Guelph
 . She is an emerging scholar and member of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory 
 and strives to promote inclusive science that embraces multiple ways of kn
 owing while on her journey of learning and sharing. Her work contributes t
 o conservation\, sustainability\, and the progression of the natural scien
 ces in the spirit of reconciliation.
