DESCRIPTION:Join Mark Swartz from Trees for Woolwich for a tour of the Elmi
 ra Nature Reserve. Located on the east side of Elmira\, the Nature Reserve
  is 67 acres of seriously degraded abandoned farm fields\, wetlands and wo
 oded areas. Since 2021\, Trees for Woolwich volunteers have been restoring
  the ecosystem\, planting a tallgrass prairie and creating a new forest wi
 th over 2\,000 trees. Join us to see the remarkable transformation achieve
 d in just three years. Nature Guelph donated over 100 tall grass species t
 o the project.\n\nPark at 96 Southfield Drive\, Elmira and follow the trai
 l to the tree nursery. Wear comfortable hiking shoes. Although a great are
 a for birding and nature photography\, this tour will require a moderate w
 alking pace and you are invited to return on another occasion to linger fo
 r birds and photos. To carpool\, meet at Dollarama\, Hartsland Plaza\, Kor
 tright and Edinburgh at 12:00 pm.
