 y of Manitoba and Polar Bears International \n\n–\n\nPolar bears are fa
 cing a rapidly warming Arctic\, driving ecological and evolutionary change
 . This talk will explore the challenges faced by polar bears and their res
 ponses\, and demonstrate how advanced genetic tools can be used to monitor
  polar bear populations\, track movement\, assess hybridization\, and iden
 tify adaptive responses. You will learn how discoveries made in the lab ar
 e translated into real-world conservation and management strategies in the
  field\, and why this research is so important for the future of polar bea
 rs.\n\nRuth is a Weston Family Fellow in Northern Research at the Universi
 ty of Manitoba and Polar Bears International. She studies the ecology and 
 evolution of polar bears to better understand the impacts of climate chang
 e in the Arctic. Using cutting-edge genomic and bioinformatic tools\, she 
 investigates how polar bears are adapting and evolving in the face of rapi
 dly warming temperatures and sea ice loss. Her research answers long-stand
 ing questions about the ability of mammals to adapt to rapidly changing en
 vironments\, and informs conservation and management strategies for polar
