DESCRIPTION:Join Nature Guelph Bird Wing at the Guelph Lake Nature Centre f
 or this family-friendly Christmas Bird Count\, the longest-running communi
 ty science project in North America. This popular winter holiday event off
 ers young birders and their families an easy and fun opportunity to contri
 bute to stewardship by documenting winter bird populations.\n\nAfter a sho
 rt presentation\, we will take to the trails on a guided hike to find and 
 practice identifying the birds at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area! We wi
 ll then return to the nature centre for some refreshments\, craft and a ta
 lly rally to share our findings.\n\nChristmas Bird Count is a tradition fo
 r many families and is the longest running community science project in No
 rth America! Each year\, people in more than 2000 locations throughout the
  Western Hemisphere participate in the Christmas Bird Count!\n\nREGISTRATI
 ON REQUIRE. Nature Guelph members as well as Nature Guelph Young Naturalis
 ts and Nature Guelph Ospreys participants are welcome to register early.
  Non-members/participants may only register two weeks before the event. P

 re is no cost to attend this event but participants may consider a  $5 or
  PWYC donation to Birds Canada (https://www.birdscanada.org/give). Further
  there is no cost for entry into the park (just say you are participating

 ryone is welcome! This event is free\, but donations are always appreciate
 d. If you enjoy our events and programs\, we hope you will consider buying

 re Centre\, though participants are encouraged to bring their own. You can
  also borrow binoculars from the Guelph Public Library.\n 	DRESS WARMLY! I
