DESCRIPTION:Join Nature Guelph Bird Wing at the New Guelph Lake Nature Cent
 re for this family-friendly Christmas Bird Count\, the longest-running com
 munity science project in North America. This popular winter holiday event
  offers young birders and their families an easy and fun opportunity to co
 ntribute to stewardship by documenting winter bird populations.\n\nAfter a
  short presentation\, we will take to the trails on a guided hike to find 
 and practice identifying the birds at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area! W
 e will then return to the nature centre for some refreshments\, craft and 
 a tally rally to share our findings.\n\nChristmas Bird Count is a traditio
 n for many families and is the longest running community science project i
 n North America! Each year\, people in more than 2000 locations throughout
  the Western Hemisphere participate in the Christmas Bird Count!\n\nREGIST
 RATION REQUIRED Nature Guelph members are welcome to register early. Non-m
 embers may only register two weeks before the event. https://forms.gle/dZV

 ay consider a  $5 or PWYC donation to Birds Canada (https://www.birdscana
 da.org/give). Further there is no cost for entry into the park (just say y
 ou are participating in the CBC event).\n\nNature Guelph events are open t
 o non-members and everyone is welcome! This event is free\, but donations 
 are always appreciated. If you enjoy our events and programs\, we hope you

  of numbers so GRCA can prepare snacks\, and crafts\n 	24 pairs of binocul
 ars available at Nature Centre\, though participants are encouraged to bri
 ng their own. You can also borrow binoculars from the Guelph Public Librar
 y.\n 	DRESS WARMLY! It will be colder than you think! Dress for the weathe
 r – it’s often colder than you think\, so wear lots of layers! \n\nEm
