DESCRIPTION:Join the Nature Guelph Bird Wing group to find waterfowl\, Tund
 ra Swans\, Sandhill Cranes and early spring migrants in this key birding l
 ocation. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at Birds Canada National Headquarters\, 115 Fro
 nt Road\, Port Rowan. We will visit sites featured in the Long Point Birdi

 1/07/Birding-Trail-brochure-2021.pdf.\n\nThe exact itinerary for the day w
 ill depend on the weather and birding conditions. Participants should expe
 ct to walk several kilometers over the course of the day\, with some drivi
 ng to trailheads. Carpooling is encouraged and can be arranged among parti
 cipants before or during the event. Participants should plan to bring thei
 r own lunch\, and will need to pay for entry into the park. \n\nDress ver
 y warmly\, especially if it’s windy\, as it can sometimes be bitterly co
 ld in April. Binoculars are recommended. A spotting scope is also very use
 ful.\n\nTour is limited to 20 participants (Note trip is at capacity). Ple

 J8 \n\nLong Point Provincial Park is one of the largest bird and waterfow
 l migration and staging areas in North America and located within a design
 ated World Biosphere Reserve\n\nWashrooms and water are available througho
 ut the park\, but options for food near the park are limited\, so particip
 ants are encouraged to bring their own food. As the weather in April can b
 e variable\, the following are recommended: optics (binoculars and/or came
 ra)\, layered clothing suitable for both cold and warm weather\, rainwear\
 , a hat\, comfortable footwear\, sunscreen\, snacks\, and lunch. Rubber bo
 ots may be recommended depending on the water level in Lake Erie. \n\nAbo
 ut the walk:\n\n- bring your binoculars\, water\, snacks and lunch\n\n- dr
 ess for the weather and prepare for walking in spring conditions\n\n- if y
 ou need binoculars\, consider borrowing them from the Guelph Public Librar
