 erhead Shrike is an endangered species in Canada\, with fewer than 50 indi
 viduals found breeding in the wild in recent years. Hazel will speak all a
 bout the work done to recover this species in Ontario and beyond\, and wha
 t the future may look like for this fascinating and vicious little songbir
 d.\n\nHazel Wheeler is a wildlife biologist with an undergraduate degree f
 rom Guelph\, and a Master’s from Trent\, where they studied Chimney Swif
 t foraging patterns using radio-telemetry. For the past 10 years\, they ha
 ve coordinated the Ontario recovery efforts for the endangered Loggerhead 
 Shrike with Wildlife Preservation Canada. They have handled hundreds of sh
 rikes\, and have the scars to prove it.
