DESCRIPTION:Dr. Lauren Van Patter\, Associate Professor\, Ontario Veterinar
 y College\n\n– \n\nWhile most of us think of cities as quintessentially
  human domains\, the reality is that many species are increasingly making 
 themselves at home within urban environments. But what does it mean 'live 
 well'\, coexist\, or co-flourish within our more-than-human cities? Using 
 case studies of urban coyotes\, feral pigeons\, and wildlife rehabilitatio
 n\, Lauren's talk will explore the work of caring for and sharing space wi
 th urban animals.\n\nDr. Lauren Van Patter is an Associate Professor at th
 e Ontario Veterinary College with a background in Environmental Sciences a
 nd Cultural Geographies. As a transdisciplinary Animal Studies researcher
 \, Lauren explores the spatial\, cultural\, and ethical dimensions of 'liv
 ing well' with other species with a focus on urban environments.
